Returning to my Livejournal roots

A silly and amusing meme, via mrblue92 (aka blue92):

Type each letter of the alphabet into your address bar, one at a time, and list what website it goes to (i.e. first address offered in the autocomplete dropdown).

Answers below the fold.

A: 'Aqoul - Surprise.
B: Google Blogsearch for 'Aqoul
C: Conventional Terrorism and Critical Care, Critical Care Medicine 33(1) - I blame an odd conversation with Matthew
D: DNS Stuff - IP/DNS lookups, tracerts, pings, etc.
E: Eerie - Surprise again.
F: Free Alaa!
G: Google
H: Herbal Healer - Quack herbal site
I: Google Image Search on Ofra Haza
J: Jonathan Rhys-Meyers Fansite - I am truly ashamed, but I saw him in Bend It Like Beckham and decided to Google.
K: Nothing.
L: Lounsbury
M: Moorishgirl
N: Application of the multidimensional fatigue inventory (MFI-20) in cancer patients receiving radiotherapy - PubMed abstract
O: Prince Nayef Blames Outside Forces - from ...Or Does it Explode (a blog on civil rights in MENA)
P: Photo of a woman - ???
Q: Quantum Ghosts - Jinnilyah's blog (ahem)
R: Signet Rings - A page of mostly ugly signet ring designs
S: Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and his (ex?) girlfriend Reena Hammer - From the abovementioned sordid Google search
T: Technorati Search on 'Aqoul
U: L'Occitane Body & Hand Care
V: Victoria's Secret
W: Palladium Vallarta Resort and Spa - Hotel Info
X: Nothing
Y: Bypassing Windows Genuine Advantage software - Mere curiosity, I swear
Z: Nothing

BTW, the iGod link on blue's livejournal is utterly bizarre.

Thanks for linking to jinniliyah. She seems to have nicked one of my comments in here: http://quantumghosts.blogspot.com/2006/06/industrial-islamophobia.html

I admit I don't know where I got the six-figure salary from, but I remember reading somewhere that she refused to move to a US university (can't remember which one) because they were offering her less than 100,000.

Apropos of nothing, except your technorati mention above reminded me of it, but have you looked at PubSub?
Kind of interesting stats - a lot less detailed than technorati, but seems to filter out blogroll entries a bit better.

For a minute there I thought you were talking about Jonathan Rhys-Davies.

Like you were ashamed of your love for dwarves or something...

Ali K: you facebook too, eh?

E: victoria's secrets? i assume you're a high maintenance kinda gal. explains why you used to date engineers!

I am like raf*. everything autoclears. can't be too careful.

Posted by: drdougfir [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 18, 2006 02:27 PM

To those who set their history to autoclear: what's the point? Are you using a shared computer?

It's an interesting game this. Bit like emptying your pockets.

Posted by: Ali K at June 18, 2006 06:57 PM

Indeed, this is an interesting game.

Re: Victoria's Secret, shopping there doesn't make me high maintenance. In fact, dating engineers usually requires one to be "no maintenance"...

"Bit like emptying your pockets."

Posted by: drdougfir [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 19, 2006 12:12 AM

ya ali,

no - i'm not using a shared computer. but (a) i'm taking my laptop on travels & (b) that's just the way i am (also see my pic on the authors page).

on the other hand - i have an insanely packed "bookmarks" folder. does that count for something?

dear drdougfir,

didn't they TELL you not to limit your fishing to middle east (wannabe) princesses? tsktsktsk. -- re: films. i saw "DAM" in concert - these guys are really good. and i can't wait for "slingshot hip hop" to come out.

Re salloum films. I hate those 70's movies with the chest hair and the huge wigs. As for rap, I hate it in any form and every language.

E: i must be fishing in the wrong female pools then because i only seem to land high maintenance gals.

Perhaps, but then I am...eccentric.

Mate

i must be fishing in the wrong female pools then because i only seem to land high maintenance gals.

Whinging on is unbecoming.

Posted by: The Lounsbury at June 20, 2006 05:53 PM

sorry for commenting, eerie, but you said my name.
you know the rules.

Ali, how can you hate rap? it is the heartbeat of the counterculture, the bleeding edge of change.
i weep djinn tears for you.
