When one has no free time...
...one begins to do strange things like redo an entire livingroom in the space of a few days.
It began with an odd compulsion to throw out almost all my existing furniture one night around 3AM. Not necessarily a bad thing - my friends have long joked about my spartan, Flight Club-esque decorating sense (yes, a lot of Ikea stuff left over from college days). Once the place was emptied out, they began to remark on the echo as a perfect accompaniment to my impoverished fridge (which contains a bottle of ketchup, a box of baking soda and a tub of margarine dating back to the Middle Kingdom).
Eventually, I grew tired of the vampire jokes.

Whirlwinds
As I mentioned somewhere already, I've been promoted to another sector within my organization. The offer arrived at 9am sharp the day I returned from India and was approved almost immediately by my management (mainly because the request came from on high, and refusing was not really an option). A week later, I was in a new office where security was so tight that forgetting my ID at home meant I couldn't enter the building, a level of paranoia that extended to the computer network and its absurdly strong password rules.
